Marble & Sooty – A Bond Like No Other

Marble and Sooty were rescued from terrible conditions, along with their two siblings and mother. Raised in a home with people and cats, they quickly grew accustomed to the comforts of family life. This inseparable duo is bonded to bits, and their personalities perfectly complement one another.

Sooty is the big brother – laid-back, selfless, and occasionally a little smug. He’s figured out that life is easier when you let Marble have what he wants. For example, Sooty might order the biggest, juiciest steak, only to casually slide it over to Marble, who’s too absorbed in figuring out how to make a toy stop moving to even notice he’s getting the leftovers. You can almost hear Sooty’s sigh as he watches Marble dive in with reckless enthusiasm, the sigh saying, "I’m not hungry, but I’ve got your back, kid." While Sooty is cool, calm, and collected, Marble is endearingly clueless and relentlessly cute, always fully engaged in the present moment—whether it’s food, toys, or cuddles.

Marble firmly believes that attention is a basic human right. He’ll jump up on the couch, rub his face against Sooty’s side, and flop onto his back, ready for some scritches. If you’re not delivering, he’ll escalate with a loud meow, making it clear that his survival depends on it. His mind may not always be engaged in the grander schemes of his brother, but Marble knows how to make anyone, human or feline, take notice of him.

Marble’s infectious energy is constantly on display—jumping onto laps and purring like a motor, always ready to share his enthusiasm. Sooty, on the other hand, is the master of casual detachment, only seeking cuddles when the mood strikes him. Together, they are the perfect balance of brains and enthusiasm—Sooty’s quiet confidence and Marble’s relentless charm complementing each other perfectly.

When it comes to playtime, Marble is the perfect partner. Sooty, for all his cool composure, knows life would be dull without his goofy brother around. He’ll let Marble take the first turn with the play wand or sneak the last bite of his dinner. After all, what’s a big brother for if not to let the little one have a little more than he deserves?

These two do require plenty of stimulation and interactive play throughout the day. If they don’t get this, they tend to go a bit wild and may entertain themselves by ripping up books or digging dirt out of plants. But as long as they get plenty of playtime, they’re really good boys! They’re also avid plant eaters, though their foster parent has found that growing cat grass helps save the plants. As far as habits go, there isn’t much to worry about—they know the word "no," never scratch or bite, and even sleep through the night!

Both have hearts of pure gold in their own unique ways. They are ideal for a family who enjoys cuddling with cats, and they’d likely do great with children aged 12+. If you have a secure catio, they’d love the chance to bask in the sunlight, enjoying the outdoors from the safety of their new home. This adorable duo will bring joy, love, and a little mischief to any home lucky enough to adopt them.
